on august 28, 1993 the silliest goose alive was born in northern california. they got a $20 guitar on their 7th birthday after their totally healthy, not at all concerning obsession with avril lavigne reigned constant annoyance upon their parents and the rest was history.

they got obsessed with guitar, and then later with just "the concept of making lots of different noises." they then got a drumset. apparently, they weren't terrorizing the household enough. either way, music shaped every formative experience into adulthood.

after a rebrand from their government name (tm) to "deforrest" in some weird effort to reclaim their shitty dad's last name and "use it for good", they moved to the bay area in 2015, then to seattle in 2021. more life happened and got harder and they had to move back home to northern california.

the album on my homepage is about cancer; both my cancer, my aunt's cancer, and one roommate who literally just never got off the fucking phone.

after a handful of years of weird weight issues, in early august 2025, after about a year of being a sleepy sleepy person, they were diagnosed with cancer. it was in and around the thyroid and they ended up getting surgery in october 2025, fucking up their voice significantly. they're still recovering today but wanted a safe place to put their music, free from AI model training and bot scraping and algorithms.
